Fun Monday

I happened to check out the Swampwitch's site and saw her Fun Monday post. It has been a long time since I have participated in Fun Monday and thought I would give it a go this week.

Sayre is the host for the month of September. You can see the Fun Monday topics in the sidebar on her blog.

This week's topic is "What would you like to learn?"

I would like to learn to knit. Since I am no longer smoking I really need something to do with my hands besides shoveling things in the foodhole. I would love to be able to make my girls cute hats and scarves.

There are no knitting classes around here. Does anyone know of an easy internet tutorial?

Funny you should ask!!! Check out Faye's post for Fun Monday - she talks about knitting and a great tutorial she found on the internet!

Glad to have you on board. I added your name and linked it to your blog on my post. Join us again next week!

I was going to refer you and to Faye and Mrs. M also! Great post and crocheting helped me a great deal when I quit smoking. So did shredding coffee stirrers with my teeth but that's not really practical on a long-term basis!

YouTube has a number of videos... i checked a few out when I tried picking up my knitting when J was in hosp this summer. Big help!

Bethany-yep, I highly recommend Mrs. Moskowitz's youtube tutorials. The one I show on my blog is the beginning one. She has several more in incremental stages of learning. Know what you mean about having something to do with your hands that's a bit more positive than eating or smoking or--in my case--watching too much Netflix. Good luck, we need to compare scarves this winter.

I have no knitting experience but wish you luck in your learning endeavors.

The only thing I could manage to do with knitting needles would be a) use them to put my hair up or b) poke myself in the eyeball. So....yeah....I'm no help. Good luck with that, though :)
