Happy Anniversary!

Today is the second anniversary of the day I got laid off! Who wants to celebrate? Not me.

The good news is the Big Guy is no longer unemployed, just seriously underemployed. He is working two part time jobs and making less money than he would make on unemployment. After almost sixteen months of unemployment he was going crazy so we decided to suck it up and take what he could get. He needs to work. Not to say I don't need to but I am able to deal with not working better than he is. We are literally making one third the money we were two years ago. Someone (and by someone I mean God) has been looking out for us.

I'm still going to college. That kind of cracks me up ever time I say it- 40 and in college! I should be done next August. Maybe by then things will turn around and there will be a job for me!

Two years?! Wow.

It sucks--the economy is so shitty and so many people are forced to take jobs they are hugely overqualified at nowhere near the money they were making just to survive.

I love that you're in college--I want to go back. I had plans to do so this Fall, but with a new baby? Eh. Not sure how that will work out for me.

Good luck with the return to school! I plan to go back in a few years, after I have one more baby. There are days I think I am crazy too, but oh well :)

I'm so sorry for what your family is going through right now. I can't even imagine our family making only 1/3 of what we normally do. I hope things turn around soon.

That royally sucks. But, you aren't unemployed if you are a college student... no matter what digit comes after birth year.

I think you should blog about your coupon use. I'd love to know how you manage to save so much money!
